The primary source of information about Inform is the Designer's Manual, fourth edition, often known as the DM4. You can download the whole book, or individual chapters of it, in PDF (Adobe Acrobat) format from these pages. You can also browse chapters in HTML or CHM format; many thanks to David Welbourn and David Cornelson for the conversion effort. The Inform Beginner's Guide is a friendly introduction to, and a basic grounding in, Inform. It's intended to be used in conjunction with, rather than instead of, the DM4, and is similarly available as a free PDF download. Another book likely to be of great interest to Inform users is the edited volume of writings on interactive fiction as a medium, The IF Theory Reader.
